Recently Migrafrica was invited to an E-forum organized by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) concerning green jobs and green entrepreneurship for young people.

The World Youth Skills Day (15 July) served as an opportunity to highlight the importance of youth skills development. The UNCCD and its partners like Migrafrica recognize and support projects and initiatives that seek to equip young people with tools and resources that will develop their capacity in sustainable land management (SLM). This will enable them to obtain decent work in a sustainable low carbon world and help to address global challenges in particular, poverty eradication and the issue of migration.

Seeing the opportunities the secretariat of the UNCCD organized an E-Forum Discussion “Empowering Youth through Green Jobs” aiming to promote and engage youth participation in green industries.
Migrafrica’s position in this regard is supporting the green entrepreneurship and mass engagement of the African youth in green and sustainable jobs. This is not only economically advantageous but also helps address unsustainable world that is behind the current challenges of violent conflicts and mass migration.

Please find below the recorded video of the E-Forum.
